Beautiful hatchet designed for splitting bamboo, but not for cutting it down! I have other suggestions for that job. It is used like a wedge to split the hollow canes down the middle, to then be used to build structures and fences for a Japanese-style garden.
The narrow forged carbon blade is useful for for other jobs like splitting kindling and sharpening stakes.
